Review

This one-act farce staged Elena Ivanovna Popova, "  a small widow with dimpled cheeks, land owner  , "Gregory Stepanovich Smirnov,"  a young man, a landowner  "and Louka, the old servant of Elena.

Popova, a widow for seven months, was removed from the world and refuse to receive Smirnov, an operator to whom her husband owed money, which is itself bound by its own debts, he claimed. Desperate, but also very angry at this refusal, Smirnov decided to stay at Popova until she pays: “You’re sick for a year, I did not move here for a year (scene VI).

Popova hidden gold (much longer) character also explosive encounter can then be completed by a duel (Popova from Smith & Wesson seek her late husband) or by marriage (" I fell in love, head first, I ask for your hand. Yes or no?" Scene9).

This piece is usually represented with a marriage proposal , by the same author, which assumes also the theme of love between landowners angry.

Character adding

I choose the Popova character; in my view point, I never felt in the love of Smirnov and rejected his proposal of marriage because I know he is a cheater also He accept his fault and maybe He will left me after marriage. He did not know how to behave with ladies also He want to killed me and in the end I don’t know how it’s mind changed into marriage maybe it’s a trick to use me  in this regard how I marriage with her.

2nd thing I choose the court option because He threat to killed me and He have not prove that my late husband taken some loaned to her If He have so I’m not responsible to pay its debt because I don’t know about it, maybe my late husband paid the debt during the life in this regard civil court give me some time to prepared the document. During this period surely I’m enabled to pay his debt.
